Competences

From concept to finished, packaged product

We produce everything from simple to complex aluminium products. With a wide range of in-house skills, we can process nearly any conceivable product in aluminium.

In addition, we offer advice during the initial phase, so you get the optimum solution for your requirements and standards. In addition to the production itself, you can have your products surface-treated and even assembled and packaged.

We also offer warehousing agreements for pre-packaged items that can be ordered directly by the end customer and sent to their address from ab Aluminium.

Welding - TIG & MIG

Welded aluminium products with a high level of finish are a core area for ab Aluminium.

Through a targeted effort spanning a number of years, we have achieved a very high standard of TIG welding in aluminium. This is supported by our longstanding collaborations regarding welded components for aviation and welded personnel baskets for construction lifts. We weld both large and small constructions and can meet requirements for a high level of finish with full traceability on all components, as well as meeting the requirements for materials and filler wire.

Welded components are typically included in a product that consists of several parts, produced using other manufacturing methods. Producing all the parts at the same address offers the customer logistical advantages.

MIG welding is offered as a standard process and as robotic welding.

CNC Machining

We offer machining of small, large, simple or complex components using our versatile CNC equipment.

We have a number of CNC-controlled machines that can perform a wide range of machining tasks.

The machinery consists of both small CNC centres with robotic handling of workpieces, 5-axis machining centres and large machines with the capacity to machine full-length sections of up to 6,500 mm. We handle many types of machining, both large series and machining of a single workpiece.

Sheet metal working

We produce metal parts for many different purposes..

ab Aluminium offers sheet components with process machining such as laser cutting, waterjet cutting and turret punching with subsequent deburring and CNC bending.

Our sheet team performs a wide variety of tasks on a variety of alloys and sheet formats. Not all types of alloys are suitable for sheet metal with bent details. We have a high level of expertise in deciphering whether a given workpiece can be cut and bent with the specified requirements for alloys and bending radii.

Punching

We have 40 years of experience in optimising plate machining using punching tools.

We have built our own punching tools for numerous tasks and for many industries. Using special equipment, the punching process can be automated and thus cost-optimised.

This way, we have amassed a high level of expertise in decoding whether traditional sheet components can be advantageously produced by punching — regardless of whether the workpiece has one or more bends.

For large series, punching is done via automatic feed from a coil. For smaller series, punching can be carried out by manual operation.

CNC Tube bending & Rolling

We have a high level of expertise in bending and rolling both standard pipes and custom-designed special sections on CNC-controlled machines.

We can advise you on the choice of alloys and thicknesses, just as we offer to discuss the design of special sections. With bending, the relationship between section strength and weight is essential to the stability of the process and crucial for good quality. In addition, adjusting the profile design from as early as the development phase will often mean a better price for the customer.

Surface treatment & Finish

Although aluminium has a high degree of corrosion resistance, it is still often necessary to treat the surface.

Whether the workpiece requires natural, black or colour anodising, chemical polishing, E-CLPS, or wet/powder coating, we have skilled and reliable suppliers very close by. That means that the time workpieces would normally spend in transit is transformed into actual production time.

We handle subsequent treatments such as screen printing, laser engraving or similar as standard tasks for a variety of workpiece types.

Prototypes, Production Tools & Fixtures

Prototypes are a natural aspect in the validation of a project and subsequent manufacture of special tools.

As we have extensive experience of many different manufacturing processes and produce for many industries, we can find new solutions for our customers.

We have vast experience of producing special tools that can streamline and cost-optimise production processes. This includes punching, bending and clamping tools, as well as the manufacture of clamping fixtures for welded structures.

ab Complete

is the manufacture of components, procurement and installation of external components and packing in customer-designed packaging..

With ab Complete, composite products can be packed and shipped directly to your customers. We offer this solution for products that include many logistical tasks. These may include coordination of section procurement, purchases of other components such as moulded plastic parts, procurement of standard products, final assembly, quality control and packing in specially designed packaging.

In addition, we also offer warehousing agreements for pre-packaged items that can be ordered directly by the end customer and sent to their address from ab Aluminium.

There are many advantages of ab Complete. Not least the mitigation of risks related to mismanaged procurement and failing supplier deliveries.
